On the afternoon of Sunday 10th November 2013 Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Reliable Multi Speciality Hospital in Kheda district. Shri Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to the management of the hospital for this noble initiative.

Shri Modi talked at length about the initiatives of the Gujarat government to provide better healthcare to the people of the state. He opined that when a rich person falls ill the world’s best doctors come to treat him but the same is not the case when a poor person falls ill, which is why special attention must be given to healthcare for the poor. He shared that a lot of people call him and share with him how the 108 service has saved the life of so many people in their families. Shri Modi added that the service has made a big difference in the lives of pregnant women. He talked about the success of the Chiranjeevi Yojana and also shared the active participation of Gujarati community in blood, eye and organ donation.

He affirmed that what the people, especially the poor need is not merely health insurance but health assurance. Shri Modi spoke about the steps of the Gujarat government to provide clean air and water to the citizens. He gave the example of how Ahmedabad, which used to be one of the most polluted cities in India became cleaner due to the government’s efforts to bring CNG.

Shri Modi further shared that in the last 7 years Gujarat has been polio free. He credited Delhi’s former Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan for starting the drive, which he said was later replicated all over by Atal ji’s Government. Shri Modi took on the Prime Minister’s statements in Chhattisgarh yesterday, giving him a fitting response on the lack of historical and geographical sense in among the Congress.

A large number of community organisations and members of the Muslim community attended the programme and greeted Shri Modi. Sports Minister Shri Ramanlal Vora was present on the occasion.
