Senior journalist Kanchan Gupta shared an instance when media room at 11 Ashoka Road, the old headquarters of the BJP, was being renovated. He recalled how Narendra Modi has always been meticulous about even smallest of things and had once pointed out to him something which was amiss in the renovated backdrop put up in the media briefing room.
Kanchan Gupta Ji said, “I had suggested to go for a backlit backdrop. It was a huge backdrop with Atal Ji’s face with people all around it. It had Bharatiya Janata Party written at the top. Everybody praised. Everybody liked it. Advani Ji liked it, Atal Ji liked it. But Narendra Modi kept quiet.”
Narendra Modi later pointed out a mistake in the backdrop. Kanchan Gupta said, “He (Narendra Modi) said that on TV, people would see the backdrop and Atal Ji’s photo. But where is the Party’s symbol?”
The fact that the huge 30X20 feet backdrop did not have the Party’s symbol caught Narendra Modi’s attention. This incident highlights how committed he has been for the Party’s growth.
