Swedish trade body sign MoU with Gujarat for mututal development 

Swedish ambassador to India Lars-Olof Lindgren explore

areas of co-operation with Narendra Modi

Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Industries entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Gujarat (GoG), iNDEXTb and International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (Icreate) in presence of Sweden’s Ambassador to India Mr. Lars-Olof Lindgren and Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi here today.

Mr. Lindgren, heading a Swedish delegation, is on a visit to Gujarat. Impressed by the Gujarat leadership’s vision and progressive policies, the delegation evinced keen interest in mutual co-operation in trade and commerce and human resources development. They also extended co-operation in the fields of research and development, high-tech agro business and technology.

Explaining Gujarat’s priorities, the Chief Minister said that Information Technology (IT), Biotechnology (BT) and Environmental Technology (ET) would be the three pillars of development in the state in the 21st Century. He said that Gujarat is particularly interested in development in sync with ecology, such as solar energy, micro hydro turbines along the Narmada Canal Network and environmental protection.

Gujarat’s Principal Industries Secretary Mr. P.Sahu and Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. A.K. Sharma were also present on the occasion.
