Congress stands for votebank politics, we stand for development

Shri Modi speaks on the importance of political stability in enhancing development process

Shri Modi lauds Chhattisgarh CM Dr. Raman Singh for the development in Chhattisgarh

On the evening of Sunday 4th November 2012 Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Rajyotsava celebrations to commemorate the creation of Chhattisgarh in the city of Naya Raipur. Shri Modi said that there are two different poles of poltics, one of votebank politics and the other of development politics. He added that the Congress leads the former whereas the BJP leads the latter.

Shri Modi affirmed that the Congress has shown all kinds of dreams to the poor, marginalized and Tribal communities but asked the Congress why didn’t they create a separate Ministry for Tribal Affairs for many years after Independence, a time when they were always in power? He reminded that it was the Government under Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee that created a new Ministry for Tribal development and a new Budget was allocated and focused activity for development started.

In his speech, the Chief Minister congratulated the people of Chhattisgarh for their farsightedness and remarked that had they elected those in power for the first 3 years of the formation of the state, the condition of the state would be very different. He also said that in the initial years one needs special care but the Government in Chhattisgarh’s first three years left the people disappointed and subsequently they gave the states in the hands of a leadership under whom the state’s future is secure.

In his speech Shri Modi spoke at length about how both Gujarat and Chhattisgarh have witnessed tremendous political stability due to which development has become possible. He also spoke about the Supreme Court lauding Chhattisgarh’s model of implementing the PDS system and said that during the Chintan Shibirs, a senior official from Chhattisgarh had come to talk about the model. He affirmed that BJP Chief Ministers are always ready to learn things and place the interest of their states and their development on top.

Shri Modi praised the leadership of Dr. Raman Singh and added that under his leadership Chhattisgarh has become a model for Tribal development related activities. He affirmed that Dr. Raman Singh can take decisions and if it was not for him, there would be no Naya Raipur today.

On the issue of rising prices, Shri Modi expressed unhappiness that Congress leaders speak about various things but no one has spoken about price rise. The Congress also snatched cylinders from them while on the other hand Dr. Raman Singh is feeding the hungry.

He also talked about the recent report by the Legatum Institute’s Global Prosperity Index where Gujarat scored the highest among all Indian states in social capital and was at a rank of 15 when compared to 142 nations.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh praised Shri Modi’s leadership and lauded him for the development in Gujarat.
