People who study politics must note the political discipline in Gujarat where no MLA is required to be protected. Elected MLAs have to be kept at safe places to be protected from horse-trading but Gujarat is singing a different tune: Shri Modi

If you watch the channels they have turned all 115 BJP MLAs into ministers. It’s an era of breaking news and we don’t know what they would break, when they would break and how much they will keep breaking! But these are decisions the party takes as a team. Those who have been assigned responsibility are working on this subject. Proper decisions are taken at proper time: Shri Modi

Attractive and trustworthy leadership the strength of BJP during 2012 Gujarat Elections: Shri Arun Jaitley

Every party worker in this country is looking at Gujarat’s rule, Gujarat’s development as role model. And therefore this victory has brought even more responsibility: Shri Jaitley

On the evening of Tuesday 25th December 2012 Shri Narendra Modi was unanimously elected the leader of the BJP legislature party in the Gujarat Sabha. The meeting was held at Gandhinagar Town hall and was attended by the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitley and the newly elected BJP MLAs.

He will take oath as CM for a record 4th time on 26th December 2012 in Ahmedabad.

Shri Modi said that people who study politics must note the political discipline in Gujarat where no MLA is required to be protected. He stated that elected MLAs have to be kept at safe places to be protected from horse-trading but Gujarat is singing a different tune.

He affirmed that 11 years ago he was new to administration but today he has an experience of 11 years that will make him deliver much better.

He declared that the thought of good governance has been institutionalized in Gujarat.

Taking a dig at the media for excessive speculation for Cabinet posts, Shri Modi pointed out, “I was not able to watch much TV during the elections, but recently I watched some TV channels and I watched that they have turned all 115 BJP MLAs into ministers! This is because every news TV channel is attempting to make difference, so if one channel presents Mr. X as a new possible minister, another channel makes Mr. Y as a minister. And if you watch all channels, they have in total turned all 115 BJP MLAs into ministers. It’s an era of  breaking news and we don’t know what they would break, when they would break and how much they will keep breaking!! Well friends, it is the party that takes such decisions as a team. Those who have been assigned responsibility are working on this subject. Proper decisions are taken at proper time.”

Very few people care to observe how BJP functions here. I request political pundits to study Gujarat BJP not as a political party but as an organization. The high values, traditions, team spirit – such elements are at their best at every step here. I have become MLA, I got so many votes from Maninagar, this is not because of Shri Narendra Modi and his magic but because of BJP worker’s hard work. Our party worker’s hard work is not limited to elections. Everyday he lives among the people and earns their trust. And therefore, when he speaks, people do believe in what he says. He counters the attacks and allegations on the party through a bridge of trust he has constructed” Shri Modi said.

Shri Modi asked newly elected MLAs that more than a position, their victory actually means responsibility.

Shri Modi said, “Our party doesn’t function on the basis of memberships but on the basis of relationships and our DNA is Bharat Mata Ki Jay.

Shri Modi further said, “in past those becoming minister were enjoying their positions, but we have brought a new work culture. In last one year, my cabinet colleagues traveled around 4,000 villages. Neither media nor Congress friends were aware about it. Our ministers used to work hard, because live connectivity with people helps to find solutions of people’s problems. We believe that governments should work among people, because when we are in people, solutions are found automatically. It is important to be close to people, their happiness and their pains.”

I have clear opinion that Gujarat has unlimited potential. The state has great strength. Natural resources are lacking, but the state has power to emerge as a leader. There’s just need to give a right direction. There’s just a need to create proper atmoshpere to achieve new heights. We have seen this in last ten years already.”

Ten years back, I was new, but today I have experience of 11 years of governance, and therefore I can work with more decision making power, and I can identify the situation more effectively compare to past. The strength to deliver results would also be many folds more now. And therefore I believe that in next five years, we will see many more achievements, incomparable with any five year period in past.”

“It’s true that we don’t enjoy facilities matching to Congress governments(that ruled Gujarat in past). During the Congress regime, opposition parties were almost not there. Media’s vibrancy was lesser and limited. And they enjoyed all these great facilities for around 30 years, but they didn’t utilized this opportunity well.”

We know we have obstructions before us at every step. Earlier when new government was formed, opponents used to wait for 100 days and refrained from attacking, but now though we have achieved such a big victory, we are facing attacks. We will have to double our strength to work against obstructions on our way.”

“Our goal is Gujarat’s future, and we will break our old records and will set new records.”

“The government machinery was involved in elections in last three months, and we are yet to form a new government, but on the other side we are preparing for an event as big as Vibrant Summit in 2013. This is a rare thing, and it is because we have not allowed the system to function around one person. We have not set up a person oriented system, we have institutionalized the idea.”

Speaking at the meeting, Shri Arun Jaitley said that attractive and trustworthy leadership was the strength of the BJP during the 2012 Gujarat Elections. He added that the people of Gujarat could clearly distinguish between what is truth and what is falsehood. He said, “Every party worker in this country is looking at Gujarat’s rule, Gujarat’s development as role model. And therefore this victory has brought even more responsibility.”
