The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will leave today for a 2-day visit to

Sikkim and Assam. After arriving in Gangtok this afternoon (18th January), he

will visit an orchid display and a seasonal flowers exhibition.

 

The Prime Minister will attend the State Agricultural Ministers Conference on

sustainable development, organic farming and eco-tourism, in Gangtok. He is

scheduled to be present at the Conference for over two hours, during which he

will also address the gathering.

 

The Prime Minister will visit an organic products exhibition in Gangtok

tomorrow (19th January) morning, and will interact with organic farmers.

Shri Narendra Modi will then leave for Assam. He will address a tribal rally in

Kokrajhar. He will also address a youth rally in Khanapara, Guwahati.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a new building for IIIT

Guwahati, and address the students of IIT, NIT and central universities of the

North-East.

Prime Minister condoles loss of lives in a shooting incident in Canada

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, extended his heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in a shooting incident in Canada. Shri Modi also wished a speedy recovery to the injured. "India stands in solidarity with the people of Canada in this moment of profound grief", Shri Modi stated.

Shri Modi posted on X:

"Deeply shocked by the horrendous shooting in Canada. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. India stands in solidarity with the people of Canada in this moment of profound grief."
