On 10th May, Shri Narendra Modi concluded campaigning for Elections 2014 by addressing massive rallies at Kushinagar, Deoria, Robertsganj and Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. Giving a ray of hope to the people who have witnessed misrule for over a decade, Shri Modi affirmed of the Congress’ wipeout in Elections 2014 and assured the people that he will serve the Nation as a ‘chowkidaar’ of its resources and as a ‘sevak’ in the service of his people.

The State government’s indifference to the saddening condition of farmers and the dying sugar factories were spoken by Shri Modi who said that despite Kushinagar MP and Union Minister Shri RPN Singh’s closeness to the ‘Family’ in Delhi, nothing had been done to address the concern. He said that both, the Central and State governments, did not have a neta, neeyat or neeti to do things.

Shri Modi also spoke of how agriculture had to suffer due to floods in various regions and affirmed that he would realize the dream of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee of linking the rivers, which would ensure that the excess water of flood-hit regions could be used to satiate the drought-hit regions. The Pradhan Mantri Krushi Seechai Yojana, to be initiated by the BJP, would enable farmers to improve their produce, said Shri Modi.

The severe lack of basic amenities like electricity, water or sanitation was also spoken of by Shri Modi, who conveyed his sadness over the dismal state of affairs, and affirmed that the BJP government would ensure provision of this. The death of thousands of kids due to water-borne diseases has deeply painful, said Shri Modi, even as he asserted the BJP’s emphasis on empowering the farmers by standardizing the Minimum Support Price and giving them a decent profit.

Expressing deep concern for the threatening lawlessness in the State, Shri Modi, while referring to Kushinagar MP and Union Minister Shri RPN Singh, said to the people, “Law and order is a part of the Ministry where your MP is a Minister. But what is the reason law & order situation is worsening.” Shri Modi also spoke of the rising incidences of Maoism and Naxalism-led terrorist attacks and urged those who perpetrated these to drop the gun and take on the plough for the progress of the Nation.

Shri Modi also slammed the Congress’ appalling attempts at abusing and defaming him by spreading false lies. He said that the more they do such mud-slinging the more will he affirm his place in the hearts of the people.

He also condemned the Congress President’s reference accusing Shri Modi of ‘unch-neech raajneeti’, and stated how it was, in fact, the Congress which endorsed ‘low-level politics’. From the elimination of economists at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation few years back for praising the Gujarat model to Congress leaders’ demands of taking away Bharat Ratna from Lata Mangeshkar for her praising words for Shri Modi, he drew the people’s attention to various incidents which proved the Congress’ unabashed promotion of ‘unch-neech raajneeti’.

Shri Modi said that if wanting the empowerment of farmers, jobs for youth, safety of people and better lives for them was the Congress’ definition of ‘low-level politics’, then he was keen on pursuing it.

The massive support of the people who turned out in large numbers during each of his rallies across the country, over the past month, would certainly prove the mathematical calculations of political pundits wrong, said Shri Modi. He urged the people to support the BJP government whose only focus was on good governance and development, and assured them of a strong Nation under the BJP rule.

Shri Modi also expressed sorrow at the sad demise of BJP Karyakarta Shri Sushil Rai and conveyed deep condolences to his family.
