Sources in the office of chief minister Narendra Modi told PTI that villagers of Vairagadh, located in Chikhli tehsil of Buldhana district, had passed a unanimous resolution through the Panchayat under Amol Sathe requesting Modi to adopt the village seeking overall development and sent an e-mail to Modi’s office in this regard Gandhinagar.

Buldhana Lok Sabha seat is represented by Shiv Sena while Chikhli assembly segment by Indian National Congress.

The villagers are ‘impressed’ with the developmental schemes like road connectivity, uninterrupted power supply to name a few being implemented by Modi government, sources added.

In north eastern parts of Maharashtra, many villages are actually dependent on Gujarat socially. Last year the Prime minister of India visited Tembhli village of Nandurbar district in north eastern Maharashtra to launch Unique Identification Number project. The villagers of this district were later visited by journalists who were told that this whole village actually is dependent on Gujarat for employment.
