This is not the first time Justice Iyer has praised Shri Narendra Modi. In September 2013, on Shri Modi’s birthday and around the time when the BJP declared him as the Party’s PM candidate, Justice Iyer hailed the decision of the BJP and wrote to Shri Modi, saying that he has positive qualities of nationalism and the comity of cosmic dimension. Justice Iyer lauded Shri Modi’s success in developing solar power in Gujarat and said that no other state has harnessed solar power in the way Gujarat has. He also praised Shri Modi for eradicating corruption in Gujarat. Justice Iyer expressed faith that Shri Modi would eradicate poverty and implement principles of Swaraj.

Speaking to the Tamil magazine Kumudam in June 2013, Justice Krishna Iyer described Shri Modi as the best leader and profusely lauded his administrative capabilities. He showered praise on Shri Modi for advances in solar power, creating jobs for people and for the spirit of peace in Gujarat.

In July 2011 Justice Krishna Iyer had written to Shri Modi complimenting him for donating the gifts he received towards the cause of girl child education.
