Hon'ble CM presents his book on Climate Change to ex-Prime Minister of Japan

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi presented a book 'Convenient Action' written by him on Climate Change initiatives to the former Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Yukio Hatoyama in New Delhi, today at the luncheon meeting organised by Shri L.K. Advani.

Shri Narendra Modi thanked Mr. Hatoyama for his overwhelming support and feelings for Japan's partnership with the State of Gujarat and said that Japan was a partner country twice in Vibrant Gujarat global Investors' Summits held in the years of 2009 and 2011.

While appreciating the eco-friendly approach of Japan, Shri Narendra Modi also said that Japan has committed to support to create eco cities in Gujarat. Japanese leading industries are always eager to be partners in progress with Gujarat and high level business delegation that came to Gujarat in VGGIS-2011 had also shown keen interest in various sectors, he added.

Mr. Yukio Hatoyama welcomed the initiatives taken by Gujarat for facing challenges of climate change and said that the relations between Japan and Gujarat will be strengthened in coming years also, as the Indo-Japan joint venture-DMIC project is in progress and 38 per cent region of Gujarat is covered by it. Gujarat CM also said that Japan had initiated to establish an office at Gujarat for speedy implementation of DMIC project.

PM announces ex-gratia from PMNRF

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to the capsizing of a boat in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The Prime Minister extended his condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this tragic mishap and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He also noted that the local administration is assisting those affected.

Shri Modi announced that an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of each of those who lost their lives, and the injured would be given Rs. 50,000.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

"The loss of lives due to the capsizing of a boat in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, is extremely painful. I extend my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this tragic mishap. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. The local administration is assisting those affected.
