CM greets people on the eve of Kutchi New Year ‘Asadi Bij’

Narendra Modi to celebrate Kutchi New Year in Kutch on June 21, to attend several functions in different towns

Ahmedabad, Wednesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today extended his hearty greetings to the people, locally called ‘Kutchi-madu’, on the eve of Kutchi New Year ‘Asadi Bij’ on Thursday, June 21, 2012.

He will spend most of the day in Kutch tomorrow to celebrate Asadi Bij’ to be among the people and to attend different public functions at different places across the district.

Mr. Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed hostel built by Leuva Patidar Kanya Kelavni Mandal at Rapar at 10 a.m., the new plant of Indian Steel Corporation at Bhimasar in Anjar taluka at noon, and the Design and Development Centre of Shri Seva International at Jiyapar in Nakhtrana taluka in the afternoon.

He will attend the variety entertainment programme organized by Mandvi Nagar Seva Sadan reflecting the Kutchi culture at Mandvi late in the evening.

Mr. Modi said that Kutch has become the fastest growing district in India, setting new benchmarks in the fields of tourism and industry as well as in bringing about an agricultural revolution. He attributed the district’s success story to the undaunted spirit of the Kutchi-madus. He said that the government is also committed to further progress of the district.
