On the morning of Monday 17th December 2012 Shri Narendra Modi cast his vote for the 2012 Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections at a school in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad. A very large number of people were present to express their solidarity when the Chief Minister exercised his franchise.

Shri Modi expressed his gratitude to the voters and expressed confidence that the voters will give a hat trick of victory to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).He affirmed that the mood of the people around indicates the mood in the elections.

Shri Modi stated, “I have always worked for six crore Gujaratis. I feel that working for the people of my state is also serving the nation in way.”

Earlier in the morning Shri Modi Tweeted, “Going to cast my vote for Gujarat Elections 2012. Let's vote and break our own record of the 1st phase!”

Prime Minister pays tribute to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 100th birth anniversary

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, paid tribute to legendary Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 100th birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister said that Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s voice carried the soul of Assam and the spirit of the Northeast to the entire nation. He noted that through his music, Dr. Hazarika beautifully gave expression to the thoughts and spirit of countless people and brought people closer.

Shri Modi warmly recalled attending the beginning of Dr. Hazarika’s birth centenary celebrations in Guwahati last year.

The Prime Minister said that Bhupen Da’s life and work will continue to inspire generations.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“On his 100th birth anniversary, remembering the legendary Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Ji.

His voice carried the soul of Assam and the spirit of the Northeast to the entire nation.
