Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today addressed public rallies in Purnea, Forbesganj and Darbhanga districts in Bihar. He said that after these elections, Bihar would celebrate Diwali twice. He said that Bihar has decided that it needs change, it needs development.

Beginning his address, the Prime Minister took a dig at misrule of the RJD and JD (U). For twenty five years, the PM noted that they ruled the state but never contributed towards development. He added, “Jungle Raj has made the women of Bihar angry and now they want development.” Shri Narendra Modi also questioned the promises that Nitish Kumar made during the previous elections. He noted the fact that Nitish Kumar promised 24/7 electrification of villages in the state but failed to deliver his promises. “Nitish ji does not talk about electricity because he knows people will question him on his promise to provide electricity to every home”, he further added.

Attacking the Congress party, the Prime Minister said that just two days after former PM Smt. Indira Gandhi’s death in 1984, Sikhs were attacked and killed across Delhi. He held the Congress party responsible for such fierce attacks saying, “Do you remember 2nd November 1984? What happened in Delhi? Sikhs were being killed and ironically on 2nd November itself the Congress talks of tolerance.”

Prime Minister went on saying that in these elections, NDA has already won 40 seats as the Congress was contesting polls from there. “I want to ask Lalu ji and Nitish ji that you fought against Congress for forty years but what happened all of a sudden you gave forty seats to them?”, added the PM.

Prime Minister Modi further highlighted NDA’s vision for developing Bihar. He talked about the Central Government’s package of Rs. 1.65 lakh crore for the overall progress of the state. He spoke of three sutras that were need of the hour for the people of Bihar –Padhai (proper schools and educational institutes) for children, Kamai (employment and stable income) for the youth and Davai (proper medical facilities) for the elderly.

Shri Narendra Modi urged the people of Bihar to turn out in large numbers and vote for a BJP led NDA Government in the state. He said that it was only NDA that could fulfil all aspirations of people in the state. “We are seeking your votes for development. Providing 24/7 power is our promise”, said the PM.

At Forbesganj, the Prime Minister said these elections in Bihar would be a turning point for the state as well as the country. He said that NDA Government’s sole agenda was to develop Bihar. “We are laying out roadmaps for development of Bihar”, he said.

Shri Narendra Modi clearly stated that a Government is for welfare of poor and those in power must live and die for the poor. Adding to it, the PM held Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar to be arrogant towards the people of Bihar. He said, “RJD + JD (U) = Jungle Raj + Jantar Mantar Raj.”

PM Modi noted that they ruled the state for twenty five years but never thought for welfare of people in the state. “They are busy attacking Modi instead of thinking about welfare of people”, the PM added. Shri Modi also held them responsible for making migrants of the youth of Bihar.

He also took a jibe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said, “You promised to free Bihar from the vicious cycle corruption. But a minister from your party was caught accepting bribe in front of TV camera. Now will you not seize his property?”

The Prime Minister also recalled Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s contribution for the backward community. He added that rights given by Dr. Ambedkar would never be taken back by the NDA Government.

Campaigning in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, PM Narendra Modi described the rally as a ‘Parivartan ka Mela.’ Bihar, the PM stated would now script history as the state has decided to vote for development.

The Prime Minister lambasted at the ‘Mahaswarthbandhan’ and said that they never contributed for the progress of the state. “Congress ruled Bihar for thirty five years, Lalu ji and Nitish ji ruled Bihar for twenty five years, but, what did they do for the state? Nothing”, said Shri Modi. Hitting out at the RJD Chief, Shri Narendra Modi held him responsible for rooting out ‘Maithili’ language from the Lok Seva Aayog in Bihar in 1990. “It was under NDA Government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership that Maithili was inducted it back into the Lok Seva Aayog”, said the PM.

PM Modi noted how the term ‘Darbhanga Module’ was used when there were terrorist attacks in Mumbai and Pune. He also noted the consequences that innocent policewoman had to face after the investigations. “When there were terror attacks the term Darbhanga Module was used. No action was taken against the ones who were responsible but was taken against the policewoman. Do you want terrorism to enter this land of Bihar?” added the Prime Minister.

PM Narendra Modi highlighted the NDA’s vision for developing Bihar and sought vote with 2/3rd majority for the state’s progress in the coming years. The Prime Minister also thanked the people of Bihar for three reasons- first, for having turned out in record numbers to vote in the state elections. Secondly, he complimented the people for attending his rallies in huge numbers in support of the NDA. Thirdly, the PM also appreciated the people for the peaceful conduct of polls this time.
