Amidst the scorching afternoon heat, a massive audience converged at Jaipur’s Amroodon-Ka-Bagh grounds where the Suraaj Sankalp Rally was held on Tuesday 10th September 2013. Addressing the rally, Shri Narendra Modi called for freeing the nation of the corruption and misgovernance of the Congress and added that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, there is a strong anti-Congress wave among the people. He expressed confidence that there will even be a sea of change in the state of Rajasthan and that the direction of the wind is amply clear.

Congress immersed in Parivar Bhakti, BJP immersed in Bharat Bhakti

Shri Modi affirmed that the nation is passing through a very troubled phase and we need to think about why this happened. He said that there is a big difference between the Congress before 1947 and the Congress after 1947, pointing that the Congress after 1947 is immersed in the Bhakti of one family only. “BJP is immersed in Bharat Bhakti, the Bhakti of 125 crore Indians,” declared the Chief Minister. Shri Modi affirmed that the people do not know what the PM raised in an important forum like the G-20 but they do know that the Prime Minister has said whom he wants to work under.

A for Adarsh, B for Bofors, C for Commonwealth, D for Damaad ka Karobar

In a stinging indictment of the rampant corruption of the Congress, Shri Modi said that the Congress has invented a new way of reciting the English alphabets. “Now a student will learn A for Adarsh Scam, B for Bofors Scam, C for CWG Scam, D- for Damaad Ka Karobar,” declared Shri Modi. He stated that corruption is a part of the Congress and that whoever is more corrupt succeeds in the Congress.

He added, “With the Congress we cannot make India corruption free. To make India corruption free the best medicine is to free ourselves from the Congress.”

There is no Neta, Neeti, Niyat, Naitikta in the Central Government

The Chief Minister described the UPA Government as one without a Neta (leader), Neeti (policy), Niyat (intent) and Naitikta (morality). “We have never seen a Government like this, that lacks the ability to lead and take decisions,” said Shri Modi, who also opined that there is absolutely no accountability in the Government. He affirmed that the Rupee today is in the hospital due to the poor policies of the Government.

Shri Modi stated that the Congress had two questions in front of them- either to save the Government or the falling rupee and either to save the image of the Party or save the image of the nation. In both questions, the Congress preferred to save the Government and the Party instead of the Rupee and the Nation.

UPA did not walk on the path of Atal ji but atleast it could have preserved the road he envisioned!

The Chief Minister shared that the entire nation fondly remembers the work done by the NDA Government under Atal ji and Advani ji. Giving an example he said, “When we see the Delhi-Jaipur highway, we remember Atal ji. But what happened to it now- the UPA did not walk on the path of Atal ji but atleast it could have preserved the road he envisioned in good shape.” Shri Modi declared that even the Honourable Governor of Rajasthan Ms. Margaret Alva (who belonged to the Congress Party) commented that it is not possible to travel on that highway.

CM calls for voter registration among youngsters

Shri Modi stated that he is fully aware and understands the power of the youth and urged the youngsters to understand the strength they have in the form of the vote. He shared that the youth of Rajasthan can give a new direction but for that there should be no youngsters who must be left ineligible to vote. Shri Modi opined that for the Congress the youth is a voter but for the BJP youth is power.

Vasundhara ji lives for the people of Rajasthan

In his speech, Shri Modi praised the Rajasthan BJP and Rajasthan BJP President Smt. Vasundhara Raje for her tireless efforts to go among the people and expose the misgovernance of the State Congress Government in the last five years. “Vasundhara ji has gone among the people, she has shared their joys and sorrows. She has a compassion for the people of Rajasthan and she lives for them.”

Shri Modi shared that initially he did not read about the Yatra but he noticed that several people from Rajasthan who were working in Gujarat were returning home for a few days. “Everywhere this was happening so I asked why are you all going, to which they said we are going for Vasundhara ji’s Yatra. People told me they made a mistake five years ago so they are going to correct that mistake,” stated Shri Modi. He congratulated the Rajasthan BJP and said that the strength of the workers is very important.

Taking a dig at the Rajasthan Chief Minister’s remarks that he serves the people even if it means drinking poison Shri Modi remarked, “Why is it that every Congressman talks about poison in Rajasthan?” It may be recalled that a senior Congress leader made remarks about power being poison in Jaipur itself a few months ago.

Narendrabhai you are not alone, the entire BJP is with you, the nation is with you: Shri Rajnath Singh

Speaking on the occasion, BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh attacked the Rajasthan Government for not fulfilling its promises in the last five years and said that the performance of the previous Government under Vasundhara Raje ji was much better than that of the current Congress Government. He categorically stated that the entire nation and the BJP is behind Shri Modi as far as the lies spread by vested interest groups are concerned.

Former Rajasthan CM Smt. Vasundhara Raje expressed her gratitude to the Karyakartas of the Rajasthan BJP who have worked very hard during her Yatra. She said that in all 7 divisions of the state there is unhappiness and mistrust among the people due to the current Government. She expressed confidence to create a new and developed Rajasthan taking all sections of society along. She took on the Rajasthan Government for their failure on multiple counts including drinking water shortage, electricity crisis, unemployment, deteriorating law and order situation, lack of proper education etc. She noted that in the last five years states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have scaled new heights of development but Rajasthan lagged behind. Former Rajasthan Minister Shri Gulab Chand Kataria also took on the Rajasthan Government for their failure on various counts.

During the Suraaj Sankalp Rally, Diya Kumari ji of Jaipur and ace shooter Rajyavardhan Rathore, who won an Olympic medal in 2004 joined the BJP. Welcoming them to the BJP, Shri Modi said that in the BJP there is nothing like membership but they are becoming members of a family.
