Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off a procession of a giant replica of the Constitution, in front of the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its adoption here on Sunday.

The replica was placed on a decorated elephant and carried across the city.

The entire Cabinet of Ministers, vice-chancellors of different universities of the State and MPs and MLAs of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party were present at the function. Mr. Modi and his Ministers, joined by around 15,000 people, walked the entire 1.1 km alongside the procession.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Narendra Modi said, 'This is a historic moment for Gujarat, as the procession of the Constitution is being taken out for the first time in Indian history'.
