Demonetisation helped wage a war against black money: PM Modi in Surat

Addressing a public meeting in Surat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress for their mis-governance in the country for over fifty years. Shri Narendra Modi stated that the BJP’s only agenda was development.

Shri Modi highlighted several aspects of Congress’ mis-governance in the state when they were in power. He spoke about troubles people faced in the region due to frequent power cuts during the Congress rule in the state. The PM added that it was the BJP Government that ensured continuous electricity supply. “See the Surat before Kashiram Bhai Rana became the Mayor of this city. And since Kashiram Bhai, and during the BJP Governments in Gujarat see the transformation of Surat.”

Prime Minister Modi said, “My Maliks are the 125 crore people of India. I am accountable to them for every moment of my time because they have placed their faith in me.”

“We have provided relief to those who want to buy or make their own homes. Every Indian should own a home... Our Government has made friendly policies for the textile sector and diamond industry that is big in Surat”, he said while highlighting several initiatives and schemes of the Union Government.

Shri Narendra Modi lambasted on the Congress for using abusive language and said, “One Congress leader, who has studied in best institutions, served as a diplomat, was a Minister in Cabinet said Modi is 'Neech.' This is insulting. This is nothing but a Mughalai Mindset.”

Shri Modi said that he never insulted anyone like this during his tenure as Chief Minister or even now as the Prime Minister. “They can call me 'Neech'- Yes, I am from the poor section of society and will spend every moment of my life to work for the poor, Dalits, Tribals and OBC communities. They can keep their language we will do our work. People will answer them for their mindset through voting on 9th and 14th”, he added furthermore.

The Prime Minister also spoke at length about how demonetisation helped wage a war against black money. He added, “Nothing can stop me from giving back to the poor what belongs to them.”
