On Monday 24th September 2012 the Vivekananda Yuva Vikas continues to cover parts of Saurashtra. This morning Shri Modi addressed the Yatra at Bagasara in Amreli district. The Yatra and Shri Modi were enthusiastically welcomed by the people especially the youth of the region. The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful welcome.
Shri Modi said that India is an agrarian nation and a nation where most people dwell in the villages but for the last 60 years we have failed to give adequate thought to the well being of our villages and farmers. He shared that at a time when the nation’s agriculture growth rate has barely reached 3%, Gujarat’s agriculture is growing more than 11%, which illustrates the importance the state Government has given to its farmers and villages.
The Chief Minister recalled the hard work and struggle that had to be undertaken to ensure that the waters of the Narmada reach every house and every farm. The fact that to raise the height upto 121 m a fast had to be undertaken shows the impediments the Government in Delhi is putting towards the development of Gujarat. Similarly, by not giving permission to erect gates on the Narmada Dam, the Centre is doing great injustice to Gujarat. Shri Modi affirmed that this best shows what the Disha of the Congress is.
In this speech Shri Modi declared that due to late arrival of the monsoon many farmers of the state faced problems but the state Government has taken care of their well being by giving a 100% interest relief on loans taken and a 50% relief on electricity bills borne by the farmers.
Shri Modi reminded that the Congress is singing ‘Disha Badlo, Dasha Badlegi’ but it was their diktat that called for the shutting of dairies and it is the BJP state Government that gave money to restart these dairies. It is in the Disha of the BJP that gave a renewed impetus to milk production and animal rearing across the state, the Chief Minister pointed out.
While speaking Shri Modi asked those gathered if they are happy with the initiatives of the Government in the fields of health, education, animal rearing, 108 medical services to which the audience replied with a forceful YES! But, Shri Modi declared that for these ten years the state Government has merely filled the ditches created by 40 years of Congress rule and that the march towards a Bhavya (Excellent) and Divya (Divine) Gujarat will commence from January 2013.
Earlier, BJP MP from Gujarat Smt. Smriti Irani lauded the development of Gujarat under Shri Modi and spoke about the high levels of safety women have in Gujarat. Gujarat BJP President Shri RC Faldu said that this is a Government that enjoys the complete trust of the people.
Others present on the occasion include Cabinet Minister Shri Dilip Sanghani, Minister of State Smt. Vasuben Trivedi, National BJP Vice President Shri Purushottam Rupala and MP Shri Mansukhbhai Mandavia among other dignitaries.
