Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today expressed his deepest sorrow and sympathy with the people of Japan caught unaware during the worst natural calamity in living memory.

He said that the Government of Gujarat as well as the people or Gujarat empathized and stood by the people of Japan at this hour of tragedy accompanying the tsunami and tremor, and ready to offer any possible assistance.

Mr. Modi recalled that Japan and Gujarat had become partners of progress for the last several, the people share and express solidarity with the people of Japan.
