65000 youths will be given appointment letters in a span of a week

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has said, тАЬGujarat has given top priority to develop modern technical skills in youth of the state and that we have zeroed in on Scale, Skill and Speed. Chief Minister in a historic move handed over appointment letters to 13,229 youth of Central Gujarat at a grand function held at Akota Stadium in Vadodara as part of the celebration of Swami Vivekananda Youth Employment Week.Criticising Union Government, he said, UPA government, during last election campaign, had promised to create one crore jobs for youth but they could not give employment even to one percent of it. тАЬWhile in a short span of a week, around 65,000 youths of the state will be given jobs in private firms through such programmes. We have decided to give appointment letters to at least one lakh youth soon,тАЭ he said.
Mr. Modi said the state government finds the ITI courses very important in providing technical and professional skills to the youths. The state government desires the ITI programmes to be treated with respect and the government has made this task its priority. Gujarat Government has up graded it ITIs with new buildings, new machinery and with the introduction of new technical courses.

Labour and Employment Principal Secretary P. Panirvel said, the state government has planned to start 10 new ITIs in Municipal Corporation area of the state, during the current year, including five for the women.
