Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi announces increase in financial assistance to victims of natural calamities
Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has announced increase in financial assistance as relief to disaster victims from State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) from budgeted amount or Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.The state government spokespersons, Health Minister Jay Narayan Vyas and Minister of State for Finance Saurabh Patel, today gave details of eligibility for increased amount for different categories as follows:
- In case of death due to natural calamity, the amount to be paid to the next of the kin has been increased by Rs.50,000 from Rs.1.50-lakh to Rs.2.00-lakh, to be disbursed from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
- In case of completely destroyed ‘kuccha’ residential units, the amount to be paid by the state government has been increased by Rs.15,000.
- In case or heavily damaged ‘pucca’ residential units, the amount to be paid by the state government has been increased by Rs.10,000.
- In case of heavily damaged ‘kuccha’ residential units, the amount to be paid by the state government has been increased by Rs.7,500.
- In case of partially damaged ‘kuccha’ residential units, the amount to be paid by the state government has been increased by Rs.6,000.
- In case of damage to ‘jumpda’, the amount to be paid by the state government has been increased by Rs.3,000.
The spokespersons-ministers reiterated the state government’s resolve to fight back calamities and to be compassionate to the victims and their families during the hours of calamity.
