India marked the 72nd Republic Day with great fervour. At Rajpath in New Delhi, President Ram Nath Kovind unfurled the National Flag. PM Narendra Modi paid homage to the martyrs at the Rashtriya Samar Smarak for their former sacrifice.
The parade witnessed contingents of the Army, Navy, Air Force and other forces. This year, for the first time, a matching contingent from Bangladesh also took part. Different tableaux showcased India's diverse and vibrant culture as well as the rapid strides the country has been making in several sectors. There were tableaux on the theme of going vocal for local and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Another special tableau showcased Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th Jayanti celebrations.
