In a bid to battle out poverty, Gujarat CM for his powerful vision and extra ordinary achievement, Garib Kalyan Mela (GKM), which were organised across state, has handed out welfare assistance to the tune of Rs.2700 crores to more than 21 lakh beneficiaries. Shri Modiji's government has been making concerted efforts to help out the poor by organizing series of GKM across the state.
Finance Minister Shri Vajubhai Vala has said that GKM has infused confidence among the poor; State Government is taking proactive steps to provide welfare assistance to the poor, the crackdown on mediators is to continue. Shri Vala was addressing a public rally at Paddhati of Saurashtra, where he distributed welfare assistance to the tune of Rs.3.66 Cr. to around 2855 beneficiaries, under various schemes. Minister highlighted State's initiatives for women empowerment. Speaking on the occasion, State BJP President Shri R.C.Faldu claimed that the era of doling out hollow promises has ended, fully alive to its responsibility; Gujarat Government has taken up the poverty alleviation task with a missionary zeal.
Shri Vala felicitated Sarpanch of Paddhati village Panchayat; he also distributed cash prices of Rs. 5000 each to the talented girls, 11 girls received cash awards at the hands of Minister.
Earlier, delivering welcome address, District Magistrate Shri H.S.Patel reflected upon the success of Taluka level GKM, which was held at Morbi and Jetpur. District Development Officer Shri Nalin Upadhyay proposed vote of thanks.
