Shri Manoranjan Kalia, ex-Punjab Minister recounted an interaction with Narendra Modi when the latter was the National Secretary of the BJP. He recalled how during a meeting, Shri Modi advised Party Karyakartas to carry toffees in their pockets during election campaigns and offer it to the kids.
Manoranjan Kalia narrated this instance in a video. Shri Kalia said that as the BJP National Secretary, Shri Narendra Modi addressed a meeting of the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir at Chandigarh, where he shared election tips which were ‘exceptional.’
Shri Kalia said, “During the meeting, he gave us several election tips. One interesting tip he gave was that while campaigning as candidates one should carry toffees in their pockets. If any parent holds a kid, give the kid a toffee. Kids will be happy, so will be their parents. It is such a small gesture but has a huge impact.”
