Gujarat Government is all set to organize National Summit on Inclusive Urban Development-2013 on Oct 17 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. Chief Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit. The summit will see various presentations on the requirements of urban development and inclusive urban development, and participation by national and international experts, speakers and industry leaders.

A series of eight seminars will be held throughout the day on the subjects covering affordable housing, urban planning, multi-model transport, basic urban amenities, social inclusion, sustainable west management, urban governance and municipal finance and smart cities. In addition there will be B2B and B2G meets discussing about the kind of partnerships required for the urban development.

A presentation has also been held on the same day showcasing the novel initiatives of Gujarat government in the direction of urban development.

It is noteworthy that during the regime of Chief Minister Narendra Modi the state government has come up with multipronged initiatives to keep in tandem with the rapid urbanization and to mitigate the challenges caused by it. The state has launched Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana from the year 2009, with a view to provide public amenities in the urban areas. The state government has also received many awards for its efforts in this direction.

Both leaders note significant progress in trade and investment, technology, defence, energy, health, agriculture, and people-to-people ties.
The leaders also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
PM conveys that he looks forward to welcoming President Lula to India at an early date.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call today from the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the India–Brazil Strategic Partnership and take it to even greater heights in the year ahead.

Recalling their meetings last year in Brasília and South Africa, the two leaders noted with satisfaction the significant progress achieved across diverse areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, technology, defence, energy, health, agriculture, and people-to-people ties.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. They also underscored the importance of reformed multilateralism in addressing shared challenges.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed that he looked forward to welcoming President Lula to India at an early date.
