Chai pe Charcha with Namo was launched at a press conference by Ms. Sushma Swaraj at the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi today. This initiative is being organized by Citizens for Accountable Governance and is unprecedented both in concept and scale. A unique mix of satellite, DTH, internet and mobile technology will enable Shri Narendra Modi to have a live, constructive dialogue with the people of India across 1000 tea stalls in 300 cities. This interaction will also be broadcasted live over television and the internet.
The first round of Chai pe Charcha will be held on 12th February on the theme of Good Governance. Each round is estimated to directly engage over 5 lakh people.
Chai pe Charcha is a step in the direction of participatory democracy where people get a platform to engage with the elected representatives. The event will have 3 key modules – Share, Ask and Suggest.
- Using the ‘Share’ feature people will be able to highlight the most pressing local issues.
- Using the ‘Ask’ feature people will be able to put across their questions to Mr. Modi
- Using the ‘Suggest’ feature people will be able to give ideas around a theme
