BRTS project goes live; hon'ble CM dedicates it to the people of the state

Much awaited BRTS project got launched yesterday. The urban public transport service par excellence, 'Jan Marg-B.R.T.S' w as dedicated as a Deepavali gift to the citizens of Ahmedabad by Shri Narendrabhai Modi today. The estimated land cost, which is utilized for Jan Marg comes to the tune of Rs. 9000 crores. "We are going to celebrate Swarnim Jayanti in Ahmedabad. We are also committed to the development of Ahmedabad. We have determined to transform the city by taking up various development projects. Those who are getting pain out of development let them bear with it, "added C.M.

He cracked upon the elements eng aged in publicizing the piece of Central-Aid.

Every year, Citizens of Gujarat deposit huge sum of Rs. 1.75 Lakh crores, as tax in the treasury of Centre. Against that, if Union Government releases a piece of aid for the construction of Jan Marg, there is no point in making publicity of it, after all the money belongs to the people of Gujarat. Chief Minister had critically raised the issue.

What if the vision of Jan Marg Public Transport could not get realised? Why are you so scared and pained, that you could not construct the efficient public transport -Jan Marg-addressing the problems of people? Who had stopped you in transforming the glittering image of Kankariya Lake? Why you did not bothered of bringing Narmada water in Sabarmati? He strongly objected the efforts to create controversy over the Central-Aid component.

The gleaming B.R.T.S is to cover 88 K.Ms connecting different areas of Ahmedabad, would provide public transport services of International class. He dedicated the first phase of Jan Marg, connecting R.T.O to Pirana. Chief Minister received thunderous ovation from the people, when he arrived in BRTS with the Mayor of Ahmedabad Shri Kanaji Thakor, Urban Development Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, and Revenue Minister Smt Anandiben Patel.

Earlier he dedicated Suez Treatment Plant, and Solid waste land fill site. He also laid foundation stone of Solid waste processing plant today.

M.P Dr Kiritbhai Solanki, Mayor Shri Kanaji Thakor had addressed the gathering.

Revenue Minister Smt Anandiben Patel, Urban Development Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, M.P. Shri Surendrabhai Patel, MLAS and eminent leaders were among the others who attended the inauguration ceremony.

Prime Minister’s meeting with Prime Minister of Mauritius on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met the Prime Minister of Mauritius Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi today. This is Prime Minister Ramgoolam’s second visit to India during his current tenure, following his State Visit in September 2025. The meeting also follows their recent telephonic conversation held on 09 February 2026.

The two leaders reviewed the progress of the Enhanced Strategic Partnership and its multifaceted engagement across trade and investment, maritime security, health, education and digital cooperation. Recognising the growing relevance of emerging technologies, they exchanged views on collaboration in Artificial Intelligence and innovation-led sectors to advance inclusive and sustainable development.

The leaders reviewed the implementation of the Special Economic Package extended by India in support of Mauritius’ development priorities. Prime Minister Modi underscored that Mauritius stands as a role model for India’s development partnership, reflecting mutual trust and shared commitment to progress.

The two Prime Ministers reaffirmed the enduring importance of the India–Mauritius partnership under India’s Vision MAHASAGAR and Neighbourhood First policy, emphasising its contribution to mutual prosperity and advancing the shared priorities of the Global South.

The leaders agreed to continue working closely to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean Region.
