PM Narendra Modi will attend an event in Gujarat’s Vadodara and distribute assistive devices to the divyangs. The Centre aims to train over 25 lakh divyangs in seven years. Several initiatives that focus on education, health, financial inclusion and creation of infrastructure according to the requirements of the divyangs will be initiated.

On September 17, 2016, PM Modi attended a programme in Navsari, Gujarat where he distributed aids and assistive devices to 11,232 divangs. Three world records were set during this event.

Similarly, on January 22, 2016, PM Modi participated in Samajik Adhikarita Shivir where over nine thousand divyangs were distributed hearing aids and wheelchairs.

Prime Minister, during his Mann Ki Baat too has time and again urged people to use the word ‘divyang’ instead of ‘viklang’.
