At 4 PM on Monday 8th April 2013 Shri Narendra Modi will deliver the keynote address at the Network 18 Think India Dialogue. Shri Modi will speak on ‘Why India needs less Government and more Governance.”

This is the first edition of the Think India Dialogue Series. The aim of the series is to create an agenda for change, based largely on the principles of “Economic Conservatism, Regulated Free Markets and Social Liberalism.” Shri Modi’s talk will be followed by an interactive session with political leaders, business leaders and eminent thinkers.

In an Interview with web based news site Firstpost.com, Mr. Raghav Bahl, who heads the Network 18 group spoke about the idea behind the Think India forum. He also mentioned reasons for inviting Shri Modi as the Keynote speaker and called Shri Modi the Natural Choice for being the Keynote Speaker.

Mr. Bahl pointed, ““We invited Mr. Modi for the first keynote since whatever is the other commentary around him, when it comes to advocating small government, he is perhaps the only politician of any stature who says government should be small. Any other leader of that stature usually bats for big government. Mr. Modi openly advocates a much larger room for private enterprise and government should be just an enabler.”

In the recent past, Shri Modi has delivered inspiring addresses to youngsters and policy makers in New Delhi In February 2013 he delivered the Shri Ram Keynote Oration at Delhi University’s prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). PM Modi commends the Rajaji Utsav, graced by the President of India, honouring Shri Chakravarti Rajagopalachari Ji

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, unveiled a bust of Chakravarti Rajagopalachari installed at the Grand Open Staircase near Ashok Mandap at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi described the initiative as a commendable effort reflecting India’s resolve to honour those who shaped the nation’s destiny and to shed remnants of a colonial mindset. Shri Modi said that Rajaji was a towering scholar, freedom fighter, thinker and administrator whose life embodied integrity, intellect and unwavering commitment to the nation.

The President of India also graced the ‘Rajaji Utsav’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan. As part of Rajaji Utsav, an exhibition on the life and work of Rajaji is being organised from February 24 to March 1, 2026 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi said that Rajaji Utsav is a wonderful initiative bringing out different aspects of Rajaji’s rich contributions to the nation, and urged people to visit the exhibition and draw inspiration from his life and ideals.

Responding to the X posts of President of India about aforementioned initiatives, Shri Modi wrote on X;
