On the birth anniversary of our great leader and freedom fighter Shri Subhash Babu on 23rd January-2009, Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi would dedicate an ambitious E-Gram Vishwagram Project, offering broadband connectivity to all -13693 -Gram Panchayats of the state from the Haripura village. Haripura has the prestigious privilege once again, as it was Haripura only from where Subhash Babu had given a call for freedom.

Gujarat has heralded a new era, for the first time in Asia; Panchayati-Raj Institutions are offered broadband linkage, a revolutionary breakthrough in communication technology. All the Panchayats are covered under the E-Gram Vishwagram project; the I.T enabled Communication facilities available to the Prime Minister of India, now the same facility would be available to Aam-Admi of the State.

On the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit has inked MOUs worth Rs 12 Lakh Crores, dedicating 25 lakh opportunities of employments to the youths. With the spectacular success of the summit, Chief Minister has taken Gujarat to sublime heights of economic development and prosperity.

For the first time, in the era of Technology Enabled Rural Empowerment, Chief Minister would dedicate a revolutionary Gram Vishwagram project, which is linking all the Gram Panchayats with communication technology network.

Haripura was a turning point in the freedom struggle, the historic speech of Subhash Babu gave a vital mode to freedom movement. In the year 2009- , it is now going to become an instrument for change towards Good-Governance.

Under the leadership of Subhash Babu, in the year 1938, the historic convention of Congress was held at Haripura. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had selected Haripura for the convention. Again, history unfolds a dynamic chapter; Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi will launch E Gram Vishwagram Project from Haripura on 23rd January- Birth Anniversary of Subhash Babu- , Resolve for achieving laudable goal of Good Governance, after independence- as envisioned by our great leaders of freedom struggle.

Important features of E Gram Vishwagram Project:

Gujarat is pioneer, not only in India, but in Asia, which offers broadband connectivity to all 13693 Gram Panchayats, taking revolutionary strides in rural empowerment.

The Information Technology network ensures communication links with the universe, which is going to benefit Aam Admi, Government Administrative Services, and Panchayati Raj Institutions services.

To realise the dreams cherished by our great leaders and Subhash Babu, after offering floral tributes at the bust of Subhash Babu, Chief Minister would dedicate the ambitious E Gram Vishwagram project, designated to architect the glorious path linking- Swaraj to Suraiya- from Freedom to Good Governance- , opens up glorious avenues of development and prosperity.

All the Gram Panchayats will share the glory, through E Gram Vishwagram Project they would embrace the launching of Pavan Channel-live telecast.

E-Utsav for the Rural Masses in all the Villages.

Gram Panchayat to issue the documents and certificates, application forms for various development and welfare schemes, including 7/12 certificates to the farmers from panchayats.

Video Conferencing facilities at all the villages.

VSAT communication technology based broadband connectivity.

Free of cost communication between panchayats.

Common service Centre facility for the villagers.

Villagers may take advantage of Internet and cyber services.

The E Gram would gradually take other services under its ambit, like Electricity-Telephone Bills, Visa, E-Postal services.

Under Jyotigram Yojana, Chief Minister has provided 3-Phase power to all the 18000 villages, which has rejuvenated rural economy in true sense. Chief Minister has pledged to traverse a journey from Swarajya to Surajya- as it was the dream of our great leaders that the rural masses must get equal benefits of developments-.

The ambitious project is going to herald a new era of Technology enabled rural empowerment.

Prime Minister pays tribute to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 100th birth anniversary

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, paid tribute to legendary Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 100th birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister said that Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s voice carried the soul of Assam and the spirit of the Northeast to the entire nation. He noted that through his music, Dr. Hazarika beautifully gave expression to the thoughts and spirit of countless people and brought people closer.

Shri Modi warmly recalled attending the beginning of Dr. Hazarika’s birth centenary celebrations in Guwahati last year.

The Prime Minister said that Bhupen Da’s life and work will continue to inspire generations.

“On his 100th birth anniversary, remembering the legendary Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Ji.
