Taking the campaign of the BJP ahead, Shri Narendra Modi addressed a large rallies at Nizar (Tapi district), Mandvi (South Gujarat) and Sanand on Tuesday 4th December 2012. He said that the Congress gave a Chief Minister from the Tribal community, spoke of Garibi Hatao but failed to create facilities for children from the Tribal communities to study science at the Class XII level! He recalled that earlier children from Tribal communities had ambitions to become engineers, doctors and pilots but due to lack of education facilities it as not possible and added that today all that is now history.

Speaking on the development in the agriculture sector among the Tribal communities in Gujarat over the past decade, Shri Modi stated that the farmer of Gujarat’s Tribal dominated areas are growing bananas and even sending them overseas. He shared that when he first became the total budget of the state was Rs. 6,000 crore while the BJP Sankalp Patra released yesterday talks about a package for the Tribal communities worth Rs. 40,000 crore! He pointed a direct finger at the Congress for failing to provide adequate water facilities to the Tribal communities, which would have helped them immensely in their farms.

When half of India was in darkness under the UPA, it was Gujarat that was shining, he pointed out. Shri Modi affirmed that the Congress does not want development and instead wants to keep people in poverty and darkness.  The Chief Minister spoke about the success of the 108 service in Gujarat and the steps taken to reduce deaths related to childbirth.

He declared that except dynastic politics the Congress does not want to do anything. He termed the Congress as an expert in cheating and added that they have crossed all limits of telling lies. Shri Modi gave the example of how the Congress advertisements used children from Sri Lanka and asked what all are they not doing to defame Gujarat!

The Chief Minister shredded the Congress myth that education is expensive and is falling into private hands in Gujarat. He shared data which showed that not only do Congress ruled states such as Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh have less Government run engineering Colleges than Gujarat but also the fees in Congress ruled states are much more than that in Gujarat.

Shri Modi strongly urged the people to vote for the BJP and pointed out that this election is not about deciding who the next MLA will be but is about the future of Gujarat. “I want to take Gujarat to newer heights for which I seek your support. I want to change the life of the Adivasi youth, give them more jobs and opportunities.”

The public meetings were attended by a record number of people from al age groups and sections of society.
