Gandhinagar, Friday: Impressed by Gujarat’s development, a Pakistani business delegation during its meeting with Chief Minister Narendra Modi here today called for exploring greater co-operation in trade and industry between Gujarat and Pakistan.

The meeting with delegation of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries at the residence of the Chief Minister was held in an extremely cordial atmosphere. The delegation has taken time off from participating in the Asia Colour Chemicals Mega Exhibition being held in Ahmedabad.

They were particularly impressed by the ‘Gujarat model’ of development, Gujarat government’s transparent and progressive policies conducive for industrial growth and by the visionary Chief Minister’s dynamism.

They invited Mr. Modi to visit Pakistan and also address the corporate heads of Pakistan’s industries and business on the ‘Gujarat model’ of development through videoconferencing to be arranged by the Karachi Chamber. They held a detailed discussion as how to develop the relations between the two regions. They presented a shawl to Mr. Modi.

Looking to the long association between the Gujarat and Sind regions, they urged Mr. Modi to use his good offices to start a direct flight between Ahmedabad and Karachi.

Those who met Mr. Modi included Messrs Zafar Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Hada, Aadam and Nasir. The visit of these members of the delegation, hailing from Gujarat but settled in Pakistan, was arranged by Mr. Dinkar Shah and Mr. Bhargav Oza of Naroda Rajdoot Enterprise

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has highlighted the significant transformation witnessed in India’s defence capabilities over the last decade.

Shri Modi said that India’s defence capabilities have undergone a major transformation, guided by the vision of self-reliance and powered by innovation, technology and indigenous manufacturing.

The Prime Minister noted that the progress made in the defence sector over the last 12 years reflects India’s growing focus on strengthening national security through self-reliance.

The Prime Minister further stated that India has strengthened its defence capabilities across air, land and sea, advanced indigenous technologies and built a stronger foundation for self-reliance and national security.
