PM Narendra Modi today inaugurated Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra. Speaking at the event, PM said that we must not view our diaspora in terms of 'Sankhya' but should see them as 'Shakti'. The Prime Minister emphasized the role that our diaspora could play in furthering India's engagement with the world. PM Modi also felicitated the winners of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' quiz competition.

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi. He said the Indian diaspora should be looked at, not just in terms of its numbers, but also in terms of its strength. He said that for years the term “brain drain” has been in vogue. But if we look at the diaspora as our strength we can convert it this to “brain gain.”

When there is no innovation, there is stagnation.”  He called upon CEOs to come up with innovative ideas and that can help build a ‘New India.’ Shri Modi said, “Only Governments and Government initiatives will not make a New India. Change will be powered by each and every citizen of India.”

At a programme on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi, the PM highlighted India’s jump in the World Bank’s Doing Business rankings. The PM stated, “Our mantra is reform, perform and transform. We want to do better and better.”
