During his address at the Joint Session of the Ethiopian Parliament, PM Modi thanked the people and the Government of Ethiopia for bestowing upon him the highest award, the Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia. Recalling the civilisational ties between India and Ethiopia, he noted that “Vande Mataram” and the Ethiopian national anthem both refer to their land as the mother.
