After being questioned by Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) for more than five hours, Chief Minister Narendra Modi told media outside the SIT office in Gandhinagar that the investigation has not yet ended and he would come again to appear before the investigation team today at 9 pm. The Chief Minister was looking confident and fresh.
“I have said earlier that the Constitution and law of the land are supreme and as a citizen and Chief Minister I am bound by the Constitution and law of the land. Today my conduct has answered my critics.I hope the vested interest groups will stop such talks. Even now if some people have some illusions then I want to clear that the SIT has been appointed by the Supreme Court of India. SIT’s probe is impartial and does not have any Gujarat Officials. Supreme Court appointed and selected officers have investigated me and they are being directed by the Supreme Court. The investigation has not ended now. I asked them (SIT officers) to take rest for two-three hours.
I have SIT today’s date for investigation and I would prefer questioning to end in one day and it is possible that I might come again. So in-between I just came to give some Masala to you. I will come back at 9 pm here. I have some other work and they (SIT) also want to do some homework in the meantime. Whatever they want to ask, I am available. I’ll leave from here in your presence”.
