Nestled on the western coast of India, Gujarat is a leading industrial state with strategically and geographically important location, along with state-of-art infrastructure, multilingual work force and concentration of corporate and financial resources. Chairman, Tata Group of Industries, Shri Ratan Tata said, 'I have to say that today there is no state like Gujarat.'

Economy is already on strong footing, under Shri Modi's leadership, Gujarat is enjoying immense stability and key sectors are on high growth trajectory.

Gujarat is assuming great significance by facilitating Industrial Infrastructure in terms of, Investment regions, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), Ahmedabad-Dholera Special Investment Regions (SIR), Petroleum Chemicals & Petrochemical Investment Regions (PCPIR), Knowledge Corridor and integrated townships. FMIC fosters a high impact area within 150 kms distance on both the sides of Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), between Delhi and Mumbai. Special Investment Region Dholera envisages a self governed economic region with full support of the government and full potential for private sector participation in industrial, commercial and residential activities. Under which International Multi-model transportation Hub cater to both International and domestic markets. It is located within 150kms from several major cities. Also focuses sectors like Export Oriented Industrial Areas / SEZ (Electronics, Engineering & Auto, Pharma, Cement Textile and IT). Knowledge city, International Finance City, Container Freight Station with Multi-Modal Logistic Infrastructures.

Petroleum, Chemical & Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR) is specifically delineated investment region planned for the establishment of manufacturing facilities for domestic and export led production of petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals, which is spread over 453 sq kms of Brownfield area in the coastal belt of Gulf of Khambhat, in Bharuch District. Santalpur Industrial Area is to be developed along the DMIC as a state-of-the-art integrated Agro Food Park. The Halol-Savali Industrial Area is going to be developed along with DMIC with a focus on Engineering and Automobile sector. Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation has conceived Aliya Bet as a unique and world-class entertainment zone within the expanse of DMIC.

Question arise that why Gujarat is assuming premier position? Because, under the leadership of Shri Modiji, Gujarat has crafted policies that helped slashing the red tape and removed all the bottlenecks. State has made remarkable progress in various sectors. The trend indicates: encouraged by the proactive approach of the government and the multidimensional reforms in all sectors, global investors today are making a beeline for Gujarat which has now emerged as one of the world's most preferred investment destinations and this was proved by the resounding success of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit 2009 held on 12th and 13th January 2009.

In spite of the economic slowdown, the latest Vibrant Gujarat: Global Investors' Summit achieved even greater success than its predecessors with 8662 MoUs worth US$ 243 billion (over Rs. 12,000 Billion) are signed. Thousands of youth gets jobs courtesy of Industrial development. The summit witnessed participation of over 600 foreign delegates from 45 countries. The who's who of Indian industry were present as were eminent political dignitaries from various countries such as Japan (Partner Country to this Summit), UK, China, Russia, Canada, Israel, Poland, Korea, UAE, Malawi, Indonesia, Oman, Kenya, Italy, Singapore, Trinidad & Tobago, Vietnam, Uganda, Zimbabwe and the Maldives.

The event that started in 2003 has now taken an institutional shape and the word 'Vibrant' has become associated with Gujarat, that has been enhancing the national and international reputation of the state. This initiative has intensified and the state has been propelled into the next stage of the development process, focused and intensive growth in the socio-economic index.

Shri Modiji is not a complacent man. He is aware that the economy of Gujarat is far ahead of many economies in South East Asia and his dream now is to position Gujarat as a state to be reckoned with and as one of the world's finest business hubs and hopes that Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit 2011 would become a vehicle for this by becoming a forum for investments across the globe.

History is replete with many examples that leadership makes a difference. Under the dynamic leadership of Shri Modijee, Gujarat continues to dazzle the world by her impressive strides in various sectors and its efforts to enact all inclusive development. Shri Narendra Modi says, ' There is no red tapism in my state; all red carpets, join the growth engine that is spearheading the journey to prosperity for all.'

The Sun is shining and will continue to shine over various aspects of social and economic life. CM has vision of economic openness and seeks to build strong and diversified economy by attracting investment and development resources to improve living standard for all residents of the State. Vibrant Summit (VGGIS-2011) is likely to bring top echelons of industry and world business leaders at Mahatma Mandir- Gandhinagar. Gujarat fully supports a united, economically strong and powerful India which would be at service of Indian people.

VGGIS-2011, which is scheduled in Jan 2010, around 80 countries are to participate and Japan and Canada being the partner countries, the underlying theme has been to drive rapid and sustainable economic growth- inclusive growth.
