PM Modi met with His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan, in Thimphu. The PM extended his best wishes on the occasion of His Majesty’s 70th birth anniversary and lauded him for his leadership in further strengthening India-Bhutan friendship. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred the Order of the Druk Gyalpo, Bhutan’s highest civilian decoration, by His Majesty the King of Bhutan in a public ceremony at the Tendrelthang, Thimphu. Prime Minister Modi is the first foreign leader to be given this prestigious award.
