At the invitation of Prime Minister of India, H.E. Shri Narendra Modi, the General Secretary of Central Committee of Communist Party of Viet Nam, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, H.E. Mr. To Lam, paid a State Visit to India from 05 May to 07 May 2026. General Secretary, President H.E. Mr. To Lam was accompanied by a high-level delegation. A strong business delegation also accompanied the dignitary.

The state visit of President To Lam of Vietnam to India resulted in the signing of several MoUs/agreements. These cover areas such as rare earth elements, culture, digital payments, technology, medicine, education, audit and tourism. Major announcements include the elevation of bilateral ties to Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the new trade goal of USD 25 billion by 2030.
