Prime Minister receives telephone call from Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

In a telephone conversation with UK PM Andy Burnham, PM Modi congratulated him on assuming office. The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and agreed to deepen cooperation across priority areas. They also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and welcomed the recent entry into force of the India-UK CETA.

In his address at the India-UK CEO Forum, PM Modi remarked that the forum has emerged as an important pillar of the India-UK Strategic Partnership. He highlighted that CETA is not merely a trade agreement — it is a roadmap for shared progress, shared prosperity, and shared peoples between two of the world’s largest economies. He announced Vision 2035 to infuse new energy into India-UK partnership.
