Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi unequivocally condemned the series of bomb blasts that rocked Pune on the evening of 1st August 2012. Speaking on the sidelines of the Raksha Bandhan function in Gandhinagar, Shri Modi said that the Pune blasts are truly a matter of great concern, and that they were held on the eve of a major festival such as Raksha Bandhan and on a day when India got a new Home Ministerdoes not augur well for the nation.

The Chief Minister stated that there are elements that want to instill fear in the minds of the people and bring instability for which we need to be more alert.

Shri Modi stressed that the issue is not where the blasts happened, what was the intensity or loss of life but the fact that these anti-national elements are giving clear indications not to underestimate their strength and write them off.

In this regard, Shri Modi affirmed that the people expect the Centre to show strength and adopt 0 tolerance towards terrorand make the people feel that there is a Government that will take the desired tough steps.
