Many congratulations to Saina Nehwal for winning a bronze in London Olympics! India is proud of her.

Just as the news about Saina Nehwal winning the bronze medal at Olympics came, Shri Narendra Modi congratulated her on twitter. Shri Narendra Modi wrote, “Many congratulations to Saina Nehwal for winning a bronze in London Olympics! India is proud of her.”

Yesterday, congratulating and appreciating the performance of Vijay Kumar for winning Silver at Olympics, Shri Modi said “Stellar performance by Vijay Kumar! Congrats for winning Silver Medal at the Olympics” on twitter.

Vijay Kumar has won silver medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol shooting event. Vijay Kumar had accomplished the tournament with a score of 30.

Shri Narendra Modi himself has got a keen interest in sports, earlier too as the Olympics had embarked on 27th of July, extending the good wishes to the Indian athletes Shri Modi had said “Best wishes to our athletes. They will perform well and do India proud”

A couple of days back as Gagan Narang bought good news for the nation bringing bronze, Shri Modi had expressed his delight saying “Great news from London! Congratulations to Gagan Narang for bringing home an Olympic medal!”on twitter.

To promote sporting activities in the state, Government of Gujarat under the guidance of Shri Narendra Modi has taken certain innovative initiatives. The annual Khel Mahakumbh, a sports pageant for sportsmen in Gujarat is one of the noteworthy initiatives. 2011 Khel Mahakumbh was special as more than 60,000 specially abled athletes participated in the event.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today expressed satisfaction that Digital India has made the process of getting pension easier and it is proving to be very useful for senior citizens across the country.

Responding to a post by journalist Ajay Kumar, Shri Modi wrote:

“सबसे पहले @AjayKumarJourno जी, आपकी माता जी को मेरा प्रणाम!

मुझे इस बात का संतोष है कि डिजिटल इंडिया ने उनकी पेंशन की राह आसान की है और यह देशभर के बुजुर्ग नागरिकों के बहुत काम आ रहा है। यही तो इस कार्यक्रम की बहुत बड़ी विशेषता है।”
