At 8:00 PM on Friday 21st June 2013 Shri Narendra Modi landed at Dehradun airport. Shri Narendra Modi is visiting Uttarakhand in the wake of the devastating floods that have affected the state in the last few days. Speaking on arrival, Shri Modi expressed solidarity with those affected by the floods. Shri Modi spoke to people from Gujarat who were affected by the flood and at the same time, the aircraft that brought Shri Modi to Dehradun took back seven ladies who were left stranded in Uttarakhand. He stated that the destruction in Uttarakhand has reached the stage whereby it should be taken as a national disaster.
At the Dehradun airport, Shri Modi held discussions with former Uttarakhand CM Shri BC Khanduri and sought more details about the flood situation in the hill state. He also held a review meeting with the Gujarat Government team that is stationed in Uttarakhand to coordinate the relief work.
The Chief Minister also stated that he would be travelling to Badrinath, Kedarnath and that the Gujarat Government will extend every help possible in this hour of disaster.
