Second phase of Garib Kalyan Mela begins

Second phase of Garib Kalyan Mela will begin tomorrow on 16th July 2010 and will last for three days. These State-wide mission initiated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi is to be implemented in seven phases and will cover 300 talukas. During the second phase, State Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, MPs and MLAs will handed over aids to beneficiaries at 20 taluka places.

On 16th July 2010, Revenue Minister Smt.Anandiben Patel will distribute benefits at Radhanpur taluka whereas Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala at Padadhari of Rajkot district, Agriculture Minister Dilipbhai Sanghani at Visavadar taluka, Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas in Idar of Sabarkantha district and Parliamentary Secretary L.T.Rajani in Savarkundala of Amreli district, will remain present and will distribute benefits. On the first day, mela will also be arranged in Rapar of Kutch district, Dhrol in Jamnagar district and Kheralu in Mahesana district in the presence of MPs, MLAs and Government Office Bearers.

On 17th July 2010, Minister of State for Energy Department Saurabh Patel in Botad taluka of Bhavnagar district, Minister of State for Forest Department Kiritsinh Rana in Vadhvan of Surendranagar district, Urban Development Minister Nitinbhai Patel in Dhanpur of Dahod district, Minister Amitbhai Shah, Parliamentary Secretary Jaydrathsinh Parmar and Sundarsinh Chauhan in Godhara of Panchmahal district will handed over aids.

On 18th July 2010, Social Justice Minister Fakirbhai Vaghela in Ankalav taluka of Anand district, Parliamentary Secretary Yogesh Patel in Dabhoi of Vadodara district, Education Minister Ramanlal Vora and Parliamentary Secretary Ishwarsinh Patel in Ankaleshwar taluka of Bharuch district, Forest Minister Mangubhai Patel in Vyara taluka of Tapi district and Parliamentary Secretary Harshad Vasava in Sagbara of Narmada district, Panchayat Minister Narottam Patel in Pardi taluka of Valsad district will distribute benefits. MPs and MLAs will also remain presence during the Garib Kalyan Melas to be arranged in Surat Municipal Corporation and Bilimora municipality. First phase of Garib Kalyan Mela was organized during 8th to 11th July and covered 21 talukas.

Announces ex-gratia from PMNRF

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives in fire mishap in Arpora, Goa. Shri Modi also wished speedy recovery for those injured in the mishap.

The Prime Minister informed that he has spoken to Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant regarding the situation. He stated that the State Government is providing all possible assistance to those affected by the tragedy.

The Prime Minister posted on X;

“The fire mishap in Arpora, Goa is deeply saddening. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover at the earliest. Spoke to Goa CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Ji about the situation. The State Government is providing all possible assistance to those affected.

The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia from PMNRF of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for those injured.

The Prime Minister’s Office posted on X;

“An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Arpora, Goa. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi”
