The first meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi has during his Nepal visit was not a bilateral meeting or a meeting to discuss a policy issue; it was a meeting in which he met the family of Jeet Bahadur, a youngster who he met years ago and facilitated his education. The meeting of Shri Modi with Jeet Bahadur, who travelled with him and his Nepal based family was full of joy and emotion.

Before leaving for Nepal, Shri Modi recalled how he met Jeet Bahadur and how he played a role in educating the youngster:

A few years ago, Shri Modi met a prominent industrialist from Nepal. On being invited to visit Nepal, Shri Modi avowed that he would visit Nepal if Jeet Bahadur’s parents could be traced. In record time that was also done and Jeet Bahadur had the opportunity to meet his parents and travel to his home.

With Shri Modi visiting Nepal and Jeet Bahadur travelling with him, another emotional moment was in store for the family – meeting their child with the man who played a role in changing his life through his concern and determined efforts! Jeet Bahadur`s mother, elder brother, and sister-in-law travelled from their village in Nawalparasi district, to Kathmandu, to receive Jeet Bahadur.
