Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi continued his campaign across Jammu and Kashmir, addressing massive rallies in Poonch and Udhampur. Shri Modi once again asked the people to bless the BJP with a decisive mandate for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prime Minister congratulated the people of J&K for the heavy turnout in the first phase, saying that it shows that the people have placed confidence in the ballot and rejected the bullet. “The people made democracy win. The entire world has got the message. They know what is in the heart of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” pointed Shri Modi.

Speaking in Poonch, the Prime Minister shared that after Shri Morarji Desai, he is the first Prime Minister to be visiting the place. He also recalled the times when he travelled across Poonch by bus when he was working for the BJP Organisation. The PM made it clear that his priority is to create more jobs for the youth. He affirmed, “Nature has given you everything. The world is ready to come to you. I am here to serve you.” He also made a strong plea to the people to reject family politics, which has ruined J&K.

In Udhampur, Shri Modi took on the ruling JKNC, the PDP and the Congress for the misgovernance in Jammu and Kashmir. “Corruption, loot and emotional blackmailing has become a habit here. We decided to ensure that there is no shortage of help being given to J&K but yes, we will make sure where the money is going,” he stated, adding, “The reason both the government and the opposition is criticizing me is that I have stopped their strategy to loot together. Be it the Congress, NC and PDP…people are aware of everything.”

Shri Modi shared his vision of a developed Jammu and Kashmir where tourism can shine. He pointed that it was Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who dreamt of connecting Jammu and Kashmir with railways and it is the present NDA government that is working to fulfil his dreams.
