During the interactive session with the members and office bearers of Supreme Court Bar-Association, Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi said, The recent terror affront on Mumbai, brutal attack by terrorists is the war staged by Pakistan through the sea routes. Unfortunately, Central Government has not taken such a stand, nor it has reacted in this regard. Decisive political will is very vital for tackling the grave challenge against our sovereignty and security, pressure is being mounted by people, which is reflecting the strength of sovereign India.
Senior advocate and president of Supreme Court Bar-association, Shri Pravinbhai Parekh is in Gujarat, the high level delegation under his leadership is touring Gujarat, and the delegation also comprises four eminent women advocates. They had shared their significant observations about the happy and experiential journey with the Chief Minister and Minister of State for Home and Justice Shri Amitbhai Shah.
During the formal interactions, Chief Minister outlined the concrete and innovative initiatives of the State Government in the area of women empowerment, tribal development, development of mariners, agriculture revolution, water conservation and water management, human development index, and the doctrine of people's participation .He replied the queries of the advocates.
With the inspiring and constructive cooperation from the legal framework, Gujarat has blazed a new trail to deliver speedy justice. Vacation period of the courts is reduced, significant rise in day to day disposal; successful experiment of evening court has a positive impact. If we take a glimpse, 45 lakh pending cases and 65 lakh fresh cases, comes to 1.10 lakh cases, since last three years, due to speedy disposal, only 22 lakh cases are pending. By the year 2010, Gujarat targets to witness the fresh cases on the board during the same year.
A power point presentation was made, that displays the landmark breakthroughs of Gujarat Legal secretary Shri S.M.Sahu welcomed the legal luminaries.
