Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Israel

At the invitation of Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu, PM Modi will pay a State visit to Israel on February 25-26, 2026. During the visit, the PM will meet PM Netanyahu to review the significant progress made in the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and discuss further opportunities across various areas of cooperation. The PM will also call on H.E. Mr. Isaac Herzog, President of Israel.

Cabinet approves three rail projects covering 8 districts across several states

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, has approved three projects of the Ministry of Railways with a total cost of approximately Rs. 9,072 crore, covering eight districts across the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. The projects are planned under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and will provide seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods and services.

Cabinet clears higher equity limit for POWERGRID

Cabinet approves Minimum Support Prices for Raw Jute for 2026-27 Season

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, has approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Raw Jute for the 2026-27 marketing season. In line with the Budget 2018-19 announcement, the MSP of Raw Jute (TD-3 grade) has been fixed at Rs. 5,925 per quintal for the 2026-27 season, an increase of Rs. 275 per quintal over the previous marketing season 2025-26.

Cabinet approves extension of existing North-South corridor from GIFT City to Shahpur of Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC)

The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, today approved the extension of the existing North-South corridor of GMRC from GIFT City to Shahpur. The approved extension will be 3.33 kilometres long and will include three elevated stations. The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, has approved the proposal to alter the name of the State of Kerala to ‘Keralam’. The President of India will now refer the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026 to the Kerala Legislative Assembly for expressing its views under the proviso to Article 3 of the Constitution of India. Earlier, on 24 June 2024, the Kerala Legislative Assembly had passed a resolution seeking the name change.
