Cabinet clears higher equity limit for POWERGRID

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, has approved enhanced delegation to POWERGRID, raising its equity investment limit from Rs. 5,000 crore to Rs. 7,500 crore per subsidiary. This will enable greater participation in capital-intensive transmission projects, strengthen renewable energy evacuation and ensure affordable, clean power for consumers.
