684-Yang Jiechi, State Councillor of the People’s Republic of China calls on PM (1) Mr. Yang Jiechi conveyed the greetings of President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang to Prime Minister. Mr. Yang Jiechi also briefed Prime Minister on the preparations for his upcoming visit to China. Prime Minister outlined his vision for closer India-China relations and the significance of the India-China bilateral relationship to the region and the world.

Recalling the visit of President Xi Jinping to India in September 2014, Prime Minister expressed hope that his visit to China will have concrete outcomes and take the relationship to a new level. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lauded the passing of amendments proposed to Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act 1948 in Rajya Sabha today. He remarked that it was an important legislation which will boost energy security and also contribute to a prosperous India.
