Laying the foundation stone of Dishaman Pharma, Fine Chemicals and Engineering Special Economic Zone-SEZ- near Bavala-Bagodara today ,Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi said, Strategic visionary plans are a foot for the developing the State, Gujarat has immense strength and potential to seek maximum advantage of the ongoing global meltdown.

With initial capital investment of Rs. 1000 Crores by Dishaman Group, the SEZ is likely to commence its operations in the year 2010, which is the golden jubilee year of Gujarat, said Shri Janmejay Vyas, Chairman Dishaman Group.

Despite the unprecedented world economic recession, Gujarat is still on the investor's radar, attracting many new projects in the State. When the banks, insurance companies and international firms are facing the crisis of close-down, Gujarat is marching ahead on the path of development and prosperity, added the Chief Minister. He reaffirmed his commitment to seek maximum gain through visionary and strategic planning. In the best interest of the masses, and in the best interest of the people, Gujarat can convert the crisis in to an opportunity. With tremendous inner grit and courage, Gujarat is all set to accelerate the pace of the development. Gujarat can not afford to get dishearten by the meltdown, which has hit the developed and under developed nations. Prevailing peace and harmony, healthy and cordial relationship among the management and laborers, age old traditions of emotional affinity has impressed the world. Chief Minister claimed that the wastage of man days in Gujarat is very negligible; the gap between the next State and Gujarat is too high. He elaborated the Cheap Labour, low production cost and ideal entrepreneurial environment to attract the industries in Gujarat.

Gujarat has emerged as the Model of SEZ, after Special Economic zone, Special Investor's Region is the focus of the debate. It is the happiest outcome due to the visionary planning, that Gujarat has maximum numbers of SEZ, which too without harming the social interests, said the Chief Minister.

The DMIC Project is going change the contours of Industrial Development Maps, entire Gujarat is all set to become Golden Corridor. He outlined the time bound and concrete planning under which the Infrastructure facilities network is going to link the ports and coasts. The emerging Logistic Support Hub would open up massive employment opportunities; it is bound to open up the fresh avenues of welfare and development.

Arrival of NANO Plant to Gujarat has stamped the strength and potential of Gujarat. Shri Narendrabhai Modi claimed that the Metro-Rail Production Unit at Savali has been completed within the record period of 13 months. Such a speedy implementation can happen in Gujarat only. The First Train would be shipmented to Delhi in the April or May Next Year.

Chief Minister went on to add,” The Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor's summit-2009 , From 12th to 14th January would bring the Industrial Giants, business wizards, and Project managers on one platform. The strengths and potential of Gujarat has won global recognition. Industrial houses would identify the new avenues for their growth. Focus is on the Small and Medium Industries (SME). Our thrust is on Zero Defect manufacturing, and to offer export opportunities to Small and Medium Industries.

Shri Janmejay Vyas earned compliments of the Chief Minister for making a new beginning of establishing SEZ at the coastal belts. It is likely to generate employment opportunities for 50000 persons. Chief Minister reiterated his view that Gujarat has become synonym of Development Benchmark. Those who love Gujarat, they are ready to adopt our development model, those who can not digest our achievements; they also compare progress and development on the basis of our benchmark indices.

“Be it Global meltdown or Global warming, by adopting the eco-friendly means of development, Gujarat Government is marching ahead with its absolute focus on non conventional and alternative energy explorations. We are going for maximum utilization of Solar, Wind, Geo thermal and Biogas energy resources. “Said the C.M.

Minister of State for industries, Shri Saurabhbhai Patel said,” Since last 5-7 years, we have not only achieved highest growth rate but also garnered 26% capital investment. Due to the encouraging policy initiatives and ideal industrial environment, Gujarat is bound get a tremendous impetus to growth and development during the coming years. While creating infrastructure, we have adopted sector specific approach. Massive employment opportunities would be generated in future.

Shri Janmejay Vyas elaborated the future investment plans, which will open up around 50000 new employment opportunities in the State; as many as 100 Industrial units would commence operations.

World Leaders Congratulate Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Becoming India’s Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received warm congratulations from world leaders on the eve of his becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of India. World leaders from across the globe paid tribute to Prime Minister’s transformative governance, his advocacy for the Global South, and his vision of an inclusive and economically dynamic India.

H.E. Anura Kumara Disanayaka, the President of Sri Lanka, in a letter dated 8 June 2026 addressed to the Prime Minister, conveyed the warm congratulations of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to him, stating: “This milestone is a testament not only to your years in office, but also to the trust and confidence that the people of the world’s largest democracy have repeatedly placed in your leadership.” The President also highlighted India’s remarkable economic and social transformation and noted that Prime Minister Modi’s vision has inspired many beyond India’s borders, including Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Modi visited Sri Lanka from 4–6 April 2025, his fourth visit to the island nation, during which he was conferred the Mitra Vibhushana, Sri Lanka’s highest civilian honour accorded to a foreign dignitary. The visit reaffirmed India’s Neighbourhood First policy, with Sri Lanka among the closest beneficiaries of India’s steadfast partnership, including India’s pivotal support during Sri Lanka’s economic difficulties in 2022.

H.E. James Marape, the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, in a personal video message, described Prime Minister Modi as “a role model and an example of leadership”. He also stated - “Lifting over 200 million people out of poverty to good life today is an amazing feat.” Prime Minister Marape expressed Papua New Guinea’s warm friendship and its desire to further consolidate bilateral ties. Prime Minister Modi’s historic visit to Papua New Guinea in May 2023, the first-ever by an Indian Prime Minister, for the Third Forum for India–Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC-III) Summit was a landmark moment in India’s engagement with the Pacific Island nations. The visit underscored India’s role as a committed partner of the Global South.

H.E. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, congratulated Prime Minister Modi on this occassion, noting that “under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has evolved as a leading voice on global matters.” She highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s journey from humble beginnings to leading a nation of 1.4 billion people across three terms, and underscored India’s significant achievements in foreign policy, economic growth, infrastructure, and socio-economic development. Prime Minister Modi paid a landmark visit to Trinidad and Tobago from 3–4 July 2025, the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 26 years, coinciding with the 180th anniversary of the arrival of Indian immigrants to Trinidad and Tobago.
