Launching multiple development projects worth ₹23,550 crore in Silchar, Assam, PM Modi said the projects will further empower Barak Valley as a logistics hub for the entire North East. He laid the foundation stone for the Shillong–Silchar High-Speed Corridor, noting it will boost local industry, agriculture and tourism.
